Dahil sa patuloy napag-lala ng nakukuhang grado ng mga mag-aaral na Pilipino sa PISA o Programme for International Ststudent Assessment sa Pilipinas, napag-usapan ng Department of Education (DepEd) ang mga posibleng naging rason nito. Isa sa mga umaapaw na sanhi ay ang talamak na bulliying sa Pilipinas at sa usapin ng nutrisyon. Nais din ng DepEd na paunlarin ang kalidad ng pagtuturo ng mga guro upang mapataas ang iskor ng Pilipinas sa mga susunod na PISA.
